Seminar
Overview
The Seminar is not too much stressful to
arrange in both parties which includes the University of Southeastern
Philippines – IC (USEP - IC) & Public Safety and Security Command Center
(PSSCC) because both are located in the same geographical area and spoke the
same dialect. The tour we made in the PSSCC is the benchmark for the entire
Field trip and Seminar because it gives us the significance that allows us to
give comparison to the visits we made while we are in the manila.
It was early in the morning of October
01, 2013 when we gather to make our tour inside the Public Safety and Security
Command Center (PSSCC), we meet at exactly 08:00 am in the morning. Thus, I can
see that everyone is so excited to enter the establishment because, it is our
first and only company visit here in Davao city. Everyone is in complete
uniform, for us to be identified and represent our respective school, when we
enter the gates, everyone gets more excited because we are proud that the
establishment we are about to enter is the product of blood and sweat of the
dabawenos, from the local government taxes, inside the establishment, we were
not able to take much pictures because, taking pictures inside is prohibited,
however; while everyone is very busy, we kept on wondering why is it that there
is a sound of a phone camera, every one of us remind each of our batchmates to
stop taking pictures, and still the sound of a phone camera continues, we then
look around and to our surprise, it was one of their staffs who took pictures
of us in our visitation, each one of us was speechless and that was really
embarrassing.
While we are still at the room where the
cameras are available, we are very much amazed on how advanced and better the
technology we have rather than what is available on manila, specifically the
Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), they have much better storage
and more monitors available than what we have seen in the MMDA, to our
amazement, even the storage capacity of the servers are far much more better,
and for every department there are certain personnel they provide to watch,
representing their departments.
Day
1
Today I went on a seminar to Public Safety and Security Command Center
(PSSCC) which is held at Sandawa, Matina, Davao City.
This time it is in favor to us because
it is just near and common to us travelling in a familiar place, and in this trip
we were able to save ample money, than trip that we made over Manila. PSSCC or
Public Safety and Security Command Center is the counter-part of MMDA in Manila
or Metropolitan Manila Development Authority in Manila City. Which is a really
small office in Manila, the PSSCC in the other hand is a large establishment
committed to protecting the Davao City as a whole Entity.
First and thing is first, the learning
in here is just unstoppable. There so much things to learn here, we came to the
company as early as 8:00 am. I can say that the place is secure because the
safety of the place is the most priority, before we enter the establishment, we
first undergo a lot log-In to be able to keep or have record on those who came
to the establishment incase unwanted very secure place and safety is its main
priority.
I can say that everyone is excited,
even if it is just in Davao City, it is not expensive than or compared to the
company visits and tours in Manila, I believe that it offers the same quality,
sometimes even better quality than what we saw or experience in manila, except
for the food that we eat in Manila, because that is something that we have been
investing since our departure.
The moment we enter the establishment,
we were amazed by the available technology that was being promoted by Davao
City. I can say that in terms of security, Davao is a better place than Manila
City, which is the capital of Philippines. The technology is truly a high-end
device which greatly help Davao mitigate crimes, especially traffic related
crimes which is often committed along the road.
APPENDIX
The things that I recommend for the
improvement of the advance seminar program of USEP is that, the organizers of
the field trip and seminars should pick those company that best suit the
interest of the participants, especially those that are really in line with our
course.
Also, I hope that the company visits
will not be in vain and hope that they will truly entertain us in the entire
time of our visit, and maybe in every visit, there is a certain seminar that is
somehow related to our course, not just the company promoting themselves.
I recommend that for the benefit of the
advancement of seminar program in USEP is that it should be more open for the
participants and questions should be relevant to the presented subjects.
My advice to those who will take their
advance seminar program in the near future is that they should prepare
themselves for the upcoming events, they should actively participate in every
activities of the seminar to really expose themselves to what the seminar
really is all about for them to fully enjoy the seminar; they should stay more
focused and serious.
